kitchen project

AKBM is pleased to be working with Gerry and Kathy to remodel their kitchen. Typical of many East Cobb homes, their kitchen had the standard fare builder cabinets - in white of course.

The homeowners wanted to expand the size of their kitchen to include a causal dining area and a large island. To accomplish this required adding a 14' x 18' addition to the back of the home.

One of the most striking features of this kitchen is the arched stacked stone cooking hearth we built for Gerry and Kathy.

Kathy was instrumental during the design phase and was the driving force behind the colors used in the project. In the words of Kathy, her kitchen is "beautiful, beautiful and beautiful"!!

These are preliminary pictures as we enter the punch-out phase. Stayed tuned next week for the completed project pictures.

Here was the original kitchen.

What a stunning transformation!! The new addition created a bright, airy space for casual dining and plenty of room for entertaining.

Here was the original pantry and butlers area.

We transformed this area to create this stunning stacked stone cooking center with an arched opening. Notice the beautiful tile work and inset niches.

AKBM installed this incredible island in Kathy's kitchen. It's huge, and adds a tremendous amount of countertop space to the kitchen.

Here is the front side of the island. Notice the beautiful travertine tile floor. We used 3 different sized tiles to give a European cobblestone effect to the floor.

AKBM torn down the existing sunroom to build the addtion.
